About Brand

Our products with a purpose to integrate beauty rituals into our daily lives while also reducing our environmental impact. Our first products were created over a decade ago to promote skin exfoliation for the iconic natural brand, Burt's Bees. Urban Spa spun off into its own company in 2015, rebranded, and expanded our spa tool offering to include makeup brushes. We've always been proud of our sustainable business model, which is based on our desire to create products that affect positive change. Better beauty leads to a better planet. Then, twenty-five years ago, while pregnant with my daughter, I became aware of toxins in our food and personal-care products. My instinct was to shield my daughter and future generations. I began to realize the significance of these issues in our lives, as well as how many people shared my desire to do things differently.

My own experience inspired me to create a brand that would protect human health and our ecosystems. My commitment to creating meaningful change is embedded in my mission for Urban Spa: empowering consumers to eliminate plastic with high-performing natural products.

Sustainability

Our ingredients, materials, and packaging are all environmentally friendly. We review all of our collections with the goal of removing plastic from our packaging as much as possible while still delivering perfect products that you love.
Our new haircare collection contains 92% less plastic than the average brand. Our aluminum can bag-on-valve technology is a cutting-edge dispensing system that only makes use of compressed air (and no chemical propellants). It can be recycled indefinitely. An internal bag preserves product purity, dispenses 99 percent of our product in each can, and protects it from air and water contamination. BOV is completely safe to use and has less impact on the environment, so we can offer our biodegradable, vegan, natural formulations safely to customers as liquid shampoos, conditioners, and treatments.
