Suggested Use

:

  • Store the starter culture in the refrigerator until you’re ready to activate it. Use the starter culture by the date on the bag.
  • Freezer storage is not recommended.

Needed Supplies:

  • Ingredients:
    • 1 dehydrated Kombucha (SCOBY) starter culture

    • 3 cups water free of chlorine and fluoride (bottled spring water works well)

    • ¼ cup white or plain organic cane sugar

    • 2 black tea bags or 1 ½ teaspoon loose leaf black tea

    • ½ cup Starter Tea or Distilled White Vinegar

  • Equipment:
    • A quart-sized glass jar

    • Thermometer

    • Tight-weave cloth or paper coffee filter (to cover the container)

    • Rubber band or canning jar ring to secure the cover to the jar

    • Measuring cups

    • Plastic mesh strainer
