How to Use Tea Tree Oil
Essential Oil Diffuser
Add one to four drops to a diffuser filled with the recommended amount of water. Follow the diffuser manufacturer’s instructions and use it in a well-ventilated area.
Begin with one drop when diffusing in a small room.
Topical Blend
Tea tree essential oil must be diluted before applying it to the skin.
Add one drop to one teaspoon (5mL) of a compatible carrier oil or unscented skincare product. Mix thoroughly and perform a patch test before applying the blend to a larger area.
Do not apply undiluted tea tree oil directly to the skin.
Scalp Treatment
Mix one drop of tea tree oil with one teaspoon of jojoba oil or another suitable carrier oil. Massage a small amount into the scalp, avoiding the face and eyes. Leave it on briefly, then shampoo and rinse thoroughly.
Discontinue use if burning, redness, or irritation occurs.
Home-Fragrance Spray
Essential oils do not dissolve evenly in water. To prepare a room spray, use an essential oil-compatible solubilizer and follow its formulation instructions. Shake well before each use and avoid spraying near the face, food, children, pets, polished surfaces, or open flames.
