How Probiotic G.I. Works
Probiotics are beneficial microorganisms that help support a balanced gastrointestinal environment. They colonize the gastrointestinal tract by competing for nutrients and attachment sites while producing compounds that may limit the ability of certain unwanted microbes to adhere.
The six probiotic strains in Probiotic G.I. have been selected to provide targeted support for healthy microflora within the gastrointestinal tract.
Medicinal Ingredients
Each vegetarian capsule contains a probiotic blend providing 10 billion CFU:
- Bifidobacterium animalis subsp. lactis (Bl-04): 4 billion CFU
- Lactobacillus acidophilus (La-14): 4 billion CFU
- Lactobacillus salivarius (Ls-33): 0.8 billion CFU
- Lactobacillus casei (Lc-11): 0.4 billion CFU
- Streptococcus salivarius subsp. thermophilus (St-21): 0.4 billion CFU
- Bifidobacterium bifidum (Bb-06): 0.4 billion CFU
Non-Medicinal Ingredients
Hypoallergenic plant cellulose and vegetarian capsule made with hypromellose and water.
Ingredients used to maintain probiotic viability include dipotassium phosphate, monopotassium phosphate, trehalose, sucrose, dextrose, sodium chloride, and acacia gum.
Recommended Use
Source of probiotics.
Children and adolescents 6 to 17 years old should take one capsule one to two times daily or as directed by a healthcare practitioner.
Adults should take one to two capsules one to two times daily or as directed by a healthcare practitioner.
Take this probiotic at least two to three hours before or after taking antibiotics.
Warnings
Do not use this product if you have an immune-compromised condition.
Consult a healthcare practitioner before use if you have a fever, vomiting, bloody diarrhea, or severe abdominal pain.
Stop using the product and consult a healthcare practitioner if symptoms of digestive upset occur, worsen, or continue for more than three days.
Storage
This shelf-stable formula does not require refrigeration to maintain the viability of its probiotic cultures. Follow the storage directions provided on the product label.
