- Shape: Unlike the more tapered conical shields, the Cherry-shaped design has a rounded bulb at the tip. This shape is often favored by lactation consultants.
- Specialized Use: This particular shape is frequently recommended for babies who have:
- Oral dysfunction or disorganized sucking patterns.
- Tethered oral tissues (tongue-tie, lip-tie).
- Low muscle tone.
- Material and Comfort: It is made from thin, durable, hypoallergenic, and tasteless silicone. The unique shape allows the baby to directly perceive the mother's warmth and smell, avoiding the "nipple confusion" sometimes associated with traditional shields.
