Card Health Cares Kids Medic Lice Combs Plastic

This product provides two patented design, reusable, plastic combs for the purpose of removing lice and nits, lice eggs, from head hair.

How to use Card Health Cares Kids Medic Lice Combs Plastic

This product is very easy to use:

  1. Wash your hair with lice removing/preventing shampoo. If you’re unsure the shampoo is for lice removal, check it contains pediculicide as an ingredient.
  2. Brush your hair with a normal comb to remove nots. This comb will need to be sanitized after use.
  3. Go through hair in one-inch sections, starting at the scalp. Repeat the process until the hair is completely nit free.

Do not force the lice comb through. Pulling at nots can cause pain.

Do not scratch scalp while using this product. Scratching the scalp can cause irritation, redness, or infection.

About Lice

Lice are small wingless insects, that feed on blood, that can live on the human scalp. Lice lay their eggs, called nits, at the roots of hair follicles; these can be easily mistaken for dandruff or dirt but more difficult to remove. These eggs will hatch one to two weeks after their laid. Once hatched, these insects have a three-week life span.

Despite the common misconception, lice are not caused by poor hygiene and don’t present any serious health risks. The main concern about lice is how contagious they are. They are quite easy to treat, with a wide variety of products such as Card Health Cares Kids Medic Lice Combs Plastic.

Common signs of lice include:

  • Itchy scalp
  • Scratching
  • Crawling sensation
  • Seeing bugs
  • Nits

Serious signs of lice include:

  • Swollen lymph nodes
  • Pink eye

Checking for lice is quite easy. Spotting the adult lice can be very difficult as they move very quickly through the hair, so it’s best to check for lice by looking for nits. Nits can be found near the root of the hair follicles or, once hatched, further along the hair stands based on growth since the eggs were laid. These nits look very similar to dandruff or dirt, but will not come off the hair follicle as easily.

To check for nits, wet your hair and lather in a large amount of conditioner. Comb through your heavily conditioned wet hair to remove nits. Wipe the comb on a paper towel to increase the visibility of the nits or lice that got removed by the comb. Using a magnifying glass and a light helps in the process by increasing visibility. You can also see your doctor.
