Carnosine is a dipeptide of beta-alanine and L-histidine found in high concentrations in brain and muscle tissues and is a potent antioxidant and scavenger of free radicals.*
Carnosine (ß-alanyl-L-histidine) is found in concentrations in the brain and muscle. It attempts to help muscle cells contract and help prevent fatigue.* In the brain, it sensitizes neurons to some signals while at the same time protecting them from overstimulation.* Carnosine protects the body by preventing cellular damage caused by harmful sugar products (AGEs) and free radicals.*
