Rebecca Cobb

Rebecca Cobb is a British author and illustrator known for her emotionally rich and visually gentle picture books for young children. Born in 1982 in Aylesbury and raised in Somerset, she showed a love for art and storytelling from an early age. She later studied illustration at Falmouth College of Arts, where she developed her passion for creating children’s books.

Rebecca’s artistic style is soft, expressive, and child-friendly, often using watercolors and pencil sketches to portray complex emotions in an approachable way. Her illustrations bring warmth, sensitivity, and a quiet charm to every story she works on.

She debuted as a solo author-illustrator with Missing Mummy, a heartfelt picture book that addresses childhood grief with honesty and compassion. This was followed by Lunchtime, Aunt Amelia, and Hello Friend, which explore everyday experiences through a child’s eyes with humor and tenderness.

Rebecca has also collaborated with some of the most celebrated children’s authors. Her work with Julia Donaldson on The Paper Dolls and The Everywhere Bear has been widely praised for its emotional resonance and artistic depth. Other collaborations include titles with Nicola Davies, Helen Dunmore, Richard Curtis, and Katherine Woodfine.

Rebecca’s books have earned numerous accolades. Lunchtime won the Waterstones Children’s Book Prize, and she has been shortlisted multiple times for the prestigious CILIP Kate Greenaway Medal.
