Pierre Lamielle

Pierre Lamielle is a Canadian chef, cookbook author, illustrator, and television personality known for his creative approach to food and culinary storytelling. Raised in North Vancouver, British Columbia, he pursued graphic design and illustration before embarking on a culinary career at the French Culinary Institute in New York City.

Lamielle gained recognition with his debut cookbook, Kitchen Scraps: A Humorous Illustrated Cookbook, which won the Gourmand World Cookbook Award for Best Illustrated Cookbook. He followed this success with Alice Eats: A Wonderland Cookbook, a whimsical culinary take on Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, co-authored with Julie Van Rosendaal. His other works include The Munchy Munchy Cookbook for Kids and 100 First Words for Little Canadians, blending humor, illustration, and culinary expertise.

Beyond writing, Lamielle has showcased his culinary skills on television, competing on Top Chef Canada and winning an episode of Chopped Canada. He also co-founded the food-themed apparel company Food on Your Shirt and has contributed to various publications. In 2020, he partnered with Yeti Farm Creative to develop a digital preschool series, Munchy Munchy, based on his cookbook, aimed at educating children about food through animated shorts.

Currently residing in Calgary, Alberta, Lamielle continues to inspire with his unique blend of culinary artistry and storytelling.
