Caprylic Acid Plus is formulated to combat the fungal infections such as thrush, otherwise known as chronic candidiasis.* The most common species of yeast responsible for this condition is Candida albicans. Candida is kept in check in healthy persons; unfortunately, this opportunistic yeast can overpopulate and affect the skin, genitals, and digestive tract. This can often happen following the use of broad-spectrum antibiotics or from high blood-glucose levels common for those suffering from diabetes. Caprylic acid is a naturally occurring short-chain fatty acid that kills off the Candida yeast by disintegrating its cell walls.
