Nathalie Le Du is a writer, editor, and creative force in children’s publishing, best known for developing interactive, hands-on books that spark curiosity and learning. With more than 15 years of experience in the industry, she has worked across some of the most recognizable educational brands, including Kumon Workbooks, Brain Quest, Star Wars Workbooks, and the bestselling Big Fat Notebook series. Her specialty lies in “destructible” books—titles that encourage kids to write, cut, draw, and physically engage with the content as part of the learning process.
In 2017, Le Du co-founded Odd Dot, an innovative imprint within Macmillan Children’s Publishing Group. As Editorial Director, she shaped a catalog that blends originality, strong pedagogy, visual appeal, and what she calls “play power”—the irresistible fun factor that keeps young readers engaged. Her projects often balance educational rigor with creativity, making them appealing to both children and parents. Currently, she is also part of Workman Publishing’s Kid Collective, where she continues to expand the “destructibles” program.
A proud first-generation American and lifelong New Yorker, Le Du credits her public school education for fostering her love of learning. Her editorial philosophy is rooted in the belief that curiosity should drive discovery, and that the best educational tools are those that invite children to actively participate rather than passively consume.
Beyond her professional achievements, Le Du is a mother and a lifelong learner herself. She is studying Dutch to connect with her in-laws and learning guitar to keep up with her brother’s musical skills. Whether in her personal life or her editorial work, she embraces challenges that expand her skills and perspective.
Through her unique blend of creativity, educational insight, and commitment to fun, Nathalie Le Du has left a lasting mark on modern children’s publishing, inspiring young minds to explore, create, and discover.
