Sherri Duskey Rinker

Sherri Duskey Rinker is a bestselling American author of children's books, best known for her Goodnight, Goodnight, Construction Site series and Steam Train, Dream Train. Her writing journey began in 2008 when she submitted her manuscript to Chronicle Books, which led to the publication of her debut picture book. Inspired by her two sons—one fascinated by trucks and trains, the other by bugs and magic—Rinker's stories often reflect their interests and her own childhood memories. Her background as a graphic designer for 25 years has influenced her approach to storytelling, blending engaging narratives with visually appealing illustrations.

In addition to her picture books, Rinker has authored the Revver the Speedway Squirrel series for middle-grade readers and a nonfiction picture book biography, Big Machines: The Story of Virginia Lee Burton, which received starred reviews from Kirkus and Booklist.
