In 2015, With a vision to revolutionize candy in mind, Tara dropped out of college and began the quest to kick sugar and keep candy. Armed with a gummy bear mould, she started recipe testing in her kitchen day and night. SmartSweets launched in the world (via deliveries from Tara's hatchback) - and gained its first employee on the same day. After Whole Foods Global Candy Buyer saw Tara on a TV segment, he reached out about a global launch. Less than a year later, SmartSweets expanded into the USA nationwide with Whole Foods.
