Suncoat originally entered the beauty market in 2002, when our originator and scientific expert Yingchun Liu, Ying for short, who knows quite a bit about both polymer science and natural science, was confronted with a difficulty: her seven-year-old little girl needed to explore different avenues regarding nail polish. Ying, on the other hand, believed that the plethora of hazardous chemicals in nail polish, such as formaldehyde, toluene, and acetates, posed an unacceptable risk to her health.

Ying created a revolutionary new formula of water-based, non-toxic nail polish, designed to provide the same quality and finish as conventional nail polish, but without any harmful chemicals, using her chemistry expertise as well as her artistic eye for creativity. On a roll, Ying extended Suncoat to incorporate an assortment of grant winning definitions for face, eye, lips, and even hair, all brought into the world from the best mix of innovation and effectual normal ingredients. The Suncoat brand's model is to work with a strong obligation to creating inventive, great items from the best fixings nature has to bring to the table while keeping up with the most noteworthy ecological uprightness.

Ying earned a BSc in polymer chemistry from Nanjing University in Nanjing, China, and an MSc in organic chemistry from The University of Calgary in Calgary, Canada. Ying was also a Ph.D. candidate in organic/biopolymer chemistry at the University of Waterloo in Waterloo, Canada, from 1993 to 1995. Ying spent many years in Canada as a Formulation Chemist, Senior Coatings Chemist, and Technical Director for industrial coatings and polymer resins manufacturers before founding Suncoat in 2002.
