INARI Organic Buckwheat Groats

Organic buckwheat groats are not part of the wheat family! Buckwheat is actually a grass that produces a seed that is 3-D triangular in shape and has a black hull. The hull has been removed in this grain leaving it a greenish yellow colour. It can be ground into flour or cooked whole. Buckwheat groats are a mild flavoured favourite addition to casseroles, soups and stews or cooked like other grains, as a pilaf- or risotto-style side dish. Cooked buckwheat groats can also be used in salads somewhat like bulgur, semolina, pearl barley or rice, or they can even be used as a hot breakfast cereal with fresh fruit and spices.

Ingredient:

Couscous (Wheat)

Cooking Directions:

Pour couscous into a saucepan. Add an equal volume of boiling, salted water and stir. Cover and let sit for 5 minutes. Add 1 tsp. of butter or olive oil. Fluff gently with a fork and serve.
