Ingredients:

  • AQUA [WATER]
    • Deep spring water. Water from the red sandstone strata of the northern Black Forest in Germany. It is obtained from our own well at a depth of 165 meters, and is unchlorinated and naturally pure. Its function is to moisturize the surface of the skin and to act as a solvent for water-soluble ingredients and plant extracts.
  • ALCOHOL
    • Pure, undenatured ethyl alcohol, potable alcohol. Obtained by fermenting plants containing starch or sugar. Alcohol is deployed as a solvent for extracts and various active ingredients. It also has a refreshing, astringent, toning and preservative effect, and stimulates the circulation.
  • SORBITOL
    • Sorbitol. A natural sugar alcohol of plant origin that occurs naturally in many fruits. Also used in foodstuffs. Has a moisturizing and moisture-retaining effect.
  • POLYGLYCERYL-5 LAURATE
    • An emulsifier from regrowing raw materials: plant glycerin and plant lauric acid.
  • GLYCERIN
    • Glycerin. A component of all fats and oils. Glycerin has a moisturizing effect. For BÖRLIND, it is derived solely from vegetable oil.
  • SODIUM PCA
    • Sodium salt of pyrrolidone carboxylic acid (PCA). Has a moisturizing effect. PCA is the main component of the natural moisturizing factors (NMFs) in the skin’s corneous layer.
  • SODIUM LACTATE
    • Sodium salt of lactic acid. A component of the skin’s natural moisturizing factors (NMFs). Has a moisturizing effect and cares for the skin.
  • PANTHENOL
    • D-panthenol/provitamin B5. Converts to pantothenic acid/vitamin B5 on the skin. It binds moisture and has a regenerating effect, and therefore wound-healing properties.
  • CHONDRUS CRISPUS POWDER [CARRAGEENAN]
    • Carrageenan. A natural gelling agent for cosmetics and foodstuffs that is derived from red algae. Used to make gels and to thicken emulsions.
  • GLYCINE
    • Glycine. An amino acid: Amino acids are protein building blocks and occur in the natural moisturizing factors (NMFs) of human skin. They maintain the skin’s slightly acid surface film (protective acid mantle), and bind moisture.
  • UREA
    • Urea. A good moisturizer. Only nature-identical urea is used. Urea is a component of the natural moisturizing factors (NMFs) in the skin’s corneous layer.
  • XANTHAN GUM
    • Xanthan. A polysaccharide produced by microorganisms from plant substrates containing sugar. A gelling/thickening agent that also stabilizes emulsions.
  • SODIUM ASCORBYL PHOSPHATE
    • Sodium salt of ascorbic acid/vitamin C. A much more stable, water-soluble form of vitamin C.
  • ALLANTOIN
    • Allantoin. A natural active ingredient found in comfrey and horse chestnut, for example. It has a tissue-regenerating effect and alleviates irritation.
  • GLYCERYL CAPRYLATE
    • A surfactant/co-emulsifier. Produced from plant glycerin and plant fatty acids. It has moisturizing, emulsifying and caring properties.
  • BETA VULGARIS ROOT EXTRACT [BEET]
    • Beetroot extract. Used as a natural red coloring of plant origin.
  • AROMA [FRAGRANCE]

  • PERSEA GRATISSIMA FRUIT EXTRACT [AVOCADO]
    • Avocado fruit extract from organic farming. Moisturizes, protects and cares for the skin.
  • LACTIC ACID
    • Lactic acid. Derived by fermentation from plant material (plant carbohydrates/sugar) and is therefore vegan. Can also be found in fruits and the skin’s natural moisturizing factors (NMFs). Has a moisturizing effect and cares for the skin. An alpha hydroxy acid (AHA).
  • CITRONELLOL

  • PHYTANTRIOL
    • Phytantriol. Produced by oxidation of phytol (a component of chlorophyll), it has a moisturizing effect.

  • CITRIC ACID
    • Citric acid. Derived by fermentation from corn substrate. Used to regulate the pH value of cosmetics.
  • SODIUM BENZOATE
    • Sodium salt of benzoic acid/sodium benzoate. A preservative for foodstuffs and cosmetics. It is often used to preserve plant extracts as well.
