Bulletproof® Cacao Tea is made from cacao beans that meet the exacting standards of the Bulletproof Process™. They are made from rare heirloom beans imported from a single estate. After the cacao shells are dried, they are gently roasted to release the pure flavor known throughout history as “the nectar of the gods”.


Brew Bulletproof® Cacao Tea with 2 teaspoons of tea per 8 oz cup of hot water. Steep the tea for three minutes with a tea diffuser or simply allow the leaves to sink to the bottom.

A cup of Bulletproof® Cacao Tea has the same amount of caffeine as a cup of decaf coffee.

Science and Research

The cacao tree has a long history in Central America of more than 4000 years. It was cultivated by the Mayans and Aztecs and believed to be of divine origin. It also served as a valuable currency in the region.

Central American cacao now only makes up 16% of the world’s cacao production, with the remaining coming from West Africa. The Central American cacao bean is considered to be a much finer-flavored cacao.

Cacao has more antioxidants than green tea and red wine. It also contains valuable theobromine, which has a similar, but more moderate, feeling as caffeine on the nervous system. Theobromine is also popular in smart drug circles for working in conjunction with caffeine.
